Ahead of Father's Day, we talked with Dads we love on the meaning of fatherhood: the joy, complexity and everything in between.
For Father's Day this year, we asked the experts (our barbers!) to share lessons they’ve learned from their fathers – from the importance of a morning routine to a comb for every hair, we’re breaking down three Dad-approved hacks. Father knows best, after all.
DEAR DAD, WE MADE THIS THING TO SAY HOW MUCH YOU MEAN TO US. NOT JUST TODAY, BUT EVERYDAY. WE LIED. JUST TODAY. WE ONLY REMEMBERED LAST WEEK. BUT LOOK WHAT WE DID. WE HOPE THIS SHOWS YOU HOW MUCH WE CARE. YOU’RE SO LUCKY TO HAVE US.
1. Wet face and hands with warm water. 2. Activate with a quarter sized amount of our Daily Face Cleanser, working in upward circular motions. 3. For extra cleansing: Use a scrubbing sponge to exfoliate the skin, removing any excess dirt from the pores. 4. Rinse with a hot towel (See: Tim’s Eucalyptus Scented Hot Towel); pat throughly with a dry towel. 5. Follow with our Daily Face Moisturizer. Pro Tip: Be sure to get the product underneath the beard to keep the hair on your face healthy. 6. Apply your SPF of choice (We don’t make it yet, doesn’t mean you shouldn’t be wearing any.) 7. Blow dry hair (Mr. Robinson recommends the Dyson Supersonic Hair Dryer) 8. Take our Bryce Harper Dry Shampoo spraying from afar, working into the roots to lift some of the dirt. 9. Finish off with our 40 Proof Sea Salt Spray to keep hair in place and add texture. 10. On a lower setting, blow dry hair again and slowly finger brush (not with the hands, but the fingertips) putting the hair into place. A Comb For Every Hair Job 1. Start with the wide tooth side of the comb and brush it through your product saturated hair from the front to the back to evenly distribute the product. 2. Repeat this in reverse, gliding the comb from back to front. 3. Now run the comb through the hair from left to right and right to left. 1. Pro Tip #1: This isn’t about styling your hair, its about pushing the product around and through each and every hair. 4. Repeat steps 1 – 3 with the fine toothed side of the comb 5. Finally, use the comb (either fine tooth side or wide tooth side depending on your preferred look) to style your hair into your desired look (side part, slick back, crop etc. etc.) Pro Tip #2: If you don’t use a comb because you don’t want the “slick” or “put together” look that results from using one, don’t worry. A more tussled, bedhead type of look is still possible after steps 1 – 3 are completed. Just set down the comb after step 5 and after the product has set, use your fingers to “muss” up your hair to delete the uniform lines and grooves a comb sets in, but retain the even product distribution.
1. Fold the towel in half. 2. Apply two small drops of eucalyptus oil (or your preferred essential oil) 3. Holding the towel at its ends, unfold and run the towel under hot water. 4. Flip the towel and repeat. 5. Roll and ring out the towel to remove excess water. 6. Apply your hot towel, sit back…and stay handsome!
