Rob & Friends Benefit 12/12/19
A dear friend, Robert Feliciano, was recently diagnosed with ALS, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis. Lou Gehrig's disease is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. Rob is 37, has always been athletic, ate healthy, and taken care of himself; within a span of 7 months he's lost 40 lbs, relies on wheelchair to get around, and needs 24/7 assistance to do mundane everyday tasks. This disease is extremely aggressive and yet there's GOOD NEWS!
Although there's no cure, Rob just got approved for a promising stem cell trial that can reduce muscle weakness and even get him walking again! He will travel to Massachusetts every three weeks to receive treatment. Accommodations, travel expenses, medication, nurses aide, all the while paying rent in Brooklyn, is difficult for a working able bodied person, imagine what that monetary stress does to someone who's sick and fighting for their life.
On 12/12/19, Blind Barber is hosting a fun filled night of solidarity with drinks, art, and amazing goodies for all. Purchase a ticket, enjoy a drink on us, buy some art, merch, and delight in a few secret surprises . All proceeds will go directly to Rob. Let's help get this beautiful person back on their feet.
